Subject Author Date While the history of Miss America is deeply embedded within Atlantic City, the nostalgia of Miss America in Atlantic City is but a memory. Even when they moved the pageant back to Atlantic City in 2013 it did not have the same nostalgia or atmosphere as it did in the past. I was recently in Atlantic City, and felt like it should bulldozed and start over again. The place is a dump and gets worse every time I go back. There is still the boardwalk and the show us your shoes parade will never be as much fun as it was in Atlantic City. 100,000 people came out for that event. They sold hundreds of program books, every hotel was sold out. Boardwalk hall offered a television ready venue and a magnificent runway (NT) -- Hotels put the girls and the chaperones up and fed them.
