Subject: I am happy when young women see their futures more brightly as they age; some think their futures are better if they move on, rather then stay in a hamster wheel for another year. Given a choice between a husband and potential forever happiness, and a crown, I'd take the husband every time.

That's a false dichotomy. No one is saying girls have to choose between a husband and a crown. She's 24. If she'd rather get married, FANTASTIC! I'm very happy for her and say go for it! But I don't think girls should ever have to choose between a husband and a crown. That "crown", while minimized often in these types of discussions, can be a stepping stone to amazing careers, especially in a state like TX where being Miss TX actually means something to people. Many men recognize that and wait for their young woman. Nothing wrong with that. Live and let live. No shade toward this young lady nor should there be shade thrown on the young women who put off marriage until they win or age out (NT)No name
