Subject: MVA Judge

Miss VA Judge here, and I would like to clear up some confusion. While I did not judge the national pageant, I did judge and crown two state winners (one Northeast, one South) for this year's national pageant. One lady I crowned made the top 15, and the second lady I crowned did not (although she should have based on the judging criteria). I was present for both prelims and finals, and I can confirm that the judging was not the same as at the state pageants. On the national level, they did indeed judge primarily on looks and stage presence based on Demarcus' WANTS (emphasis on wants). The "merit" awards were given to contestants who should have been in the top 15 by the "authentic" MVA judging but didn't rank in the "wants." Minnesota, Connecticut, and Missouri were victims of this.

I've seen comments saying that the scoring is "25% across the board" but that's not entirely true. There were a number of ties after prelims that was then decided by the look of contestants. (Interviews would have broken the ties an kept contestants in top 15.)

If anyone is curious about the judging criteria, I can upload the rulebook I was given when judging the two state pageants (which was supposed to be the same criteria for the national pageant). This will most likely be my final pageant as a judge. I don't think I have it in me to keep misleading young girls who put so much effort and hard work into a system that was never for them from the beginning.

I hope this clarifies any misleading comments on this forum. Congratulations to all the contestants. Life still goes on! <3

[> Subject: Judging is subjective. I’m sorry but everyone keeps talking about MN. She just didn’t have it. Even when she performed as a non finalist talent, she was not as good as the other fiddle player. Yes I have been a judge as well. With the exception of Mississippi in the top 5, I had no problem with the results.

[> [> Subject: Completely agree. Also no one were “victims” of anything. It was a subjective competition and those three were outperformed. The three of them did fantastic, but so did the other who made it

[> [> [> Subject: I am not going to argue with someone who didn’t judge or know anything about this organization. Contestants were taken out of the top 15 when they did in-fact score in the top. Judging is subjective yes. But what happened last night was not. As I said before, which you probably skipped over, I can happily upload the judging criteria which will solidify the result mishaps viewers saw.

I disagree, Connecticut and Missouri were better than half of the girls that made top 15.

[> Subject: Some comments on this thread asking for proof were deleted, but I would like proof of these tiebreakers and girls were intentionally taken out of the top 15 so give any credit to these allegations

[> [> Subject: I noticed that too. It seems like the administrator of this page was contacted by the board and asked to squash things, Hundreds of comments have been deleted since Saturday night, all saying negative things about the pageant.

[> [> [> Subject: I think comments in support of the pageant have been deleted too. I think it was a well run event where a lovely young lady won. Everything is subjective and some people were hurt that maybe their girl didn’t win or make it in the top 15. That happens no matter which pageant it is.

[> [> [> Subject: At the top you'll see someone from Broken Arrow, OK overran this board with 75 messages, 54 of which had to be deleted. A poster can't create a thread on their own by posting replies to their own posts, or repeating their point. Both give the appearance that perhaps dozens of others were participating in the thread. That's propaganda, it gets deleted.

[> [> [> Subject: Maybe if the administrator of this page wouldn’t have kept deleting only this one person’s comments, they wouldn’t have had to keep reposting over and over again. This is supposed to be a public forum where all opinions can be shared. The comments were not about the girls. They were mainly about one specific director who has been reported multiple times by multiple girls over a two year period for inappropriate behavior. Yet national chose to do nothing about the situation. Why is national trying so hard to keep this information from being shared publicly?

[> [> [> [> Subject: "Maybe if the administrator of this page wouldn’t have kept deleting only this one person’s comments, they wouldn’t have had to keep reposting over and over again." If you're post is deleted, it's for a reason. Do not repost it.

Threads made entirely by 'only one person' will be deleted.
"This is supposed to be a public forum where all opinions can be shared."Libelous 'opinions' are deleted.
"Why is national trying so hard to keep this information from being shared publicly?"The assumption that Volunteer runs this board is false. You can share anywhere else you please. You can't overrun this board with 75 messages.
