She got an important business call while I was practicing for a coming piano lesson. She told me to stop because the call needed her undivided attention. I thought it over and decided that I could just play softly and I held down the soft key on the floor. It slightly muffles the sound of a piano key but it definitely does not really silence a keystroke. So, of course, she is furious and tells me in her inimical you're about to cross the line voice: I will spank your BARE bottom! I thought it over and decided I would play only one more chord that had notes for both hands. And, that I had just learned the bass or left hand fingering. Not my wisest choice! Ivy's mother's mother no doubt was given a list of Ivy's "crimes" and decided not to get involved. Ivy clearly loves and admires her mother, perhaps in general, for her mom's determination, methodical style, and thoroughness. But when it comes to spanking Ivy, Ivy might prefer a little lackadaisical-ness. Thorough spankings make it impossible to find a comfortable position for sitting. She laid a Jewish mother guilt trip, saying how it broke mom's heart to spank me, but I had become such a Mazek (mischievous or devil child) she had no choice but this extreme action. I do believe mom hated to go to spanking, but was convinced it was absolutely necessary. I do not totally agree . My behavior was really not that bad. If you were struggling with the preparations for the Bat Mitzvah chanting possibly your mom persuaded your grandma that spanking was the only way to encourage you to get it right and to avoid massive "assistance" from the other readers helping you in the big public ceremony. It would be interesting how you think parents should treat obviously budding spanko children. I believe that spanko-interests are inherited and are with a person from a very early age. I am aware that many people think that their interests were caused by being spanked or by being around persons who spanked or threatened to spank. My thesis or theory is that the usual social or environmental causes are like a taste for an expensive alcoholic drink like single malt scotch. I obviously have an above-average interest in spanking or I would not read forums like this. Whether it is innate or not I have no idea, but I am certain it would not have been formed or awoken if I had not been spanked. Ten years out, I look at that spanking period somewhat fondly. It actually helped me bond closer with mom, and mature. I don't think that is all that unusual. That said I am anti-spanking, in that I do not intend to spank any children I may have. BUT that does not mean it might not be necessary at some point, and then I will not hesitate. I am my mother's daughter!
