What are those standards? X got an abusive over the line spanking when there are photographable marks showing 24 hours after the spanking. No doubt most of us got marks that showed afterwards. Few of us got marks that were clearly visible a day later. Thus, by the usual definition of abusive, few of us were abused. Another criterion for intensity is whether the child is considering running away from home to avoid another spanking. I believe that in the homes Maddie is speaking of where spanking is a consequence employed by the parents, the spankings are infrequent and none of them rises to the level of being abusive. My parents paddle me when I am home if I need it our paddle is shaped like a cutting board . I gave my parents my school portal log in so they can hold me accountable . I got a parking ticket on campus last week so Friday night my dad gave me four swats with the paddle . When I am home I have a curfew 12 o’clock my two younger sisters 11 I clock curfew . We got engaged over the summer but we promised both parents to wait til we graduate college . He goes to the same college it is a Christian College so no coed dorms we see each other at the commons on breaks between classes . When the are old enough he would do most of the spanking .
