There hasn't been a child that I've spanked that doesn't try to talk or plead their way out of one, even when I have spanked older teens. Usually it's a lot of apologies, promises to never do it again. Or "I didn't mean it!" And many times finished off with "Just please don't spank me this one time!" However, I will just continue to undress them. Telling them no (to their pleading), it is much too late for that now and making it clear again why they are being spanked.

As for crying during my hand spanking, with the older teens it really varies. For Andy, he pretty much starts crying hard right away when I begin to hand spank. He's still very much my little boy in that regards. With Derek, he does hold out for a short while, but even with him it doesn't take too long to where he will just burst and then start bawling loudly and begin wailing, and soon follow with being even louder and more desperate.

With other older teens I've spanked, like friends of Andy and Derek, which has been rare overall and sometimes children of friends of mine from church, they can vary. Some try to hold out like Derek, some are already crying hard and are wailing right away (like Andy), but well before I am done with my hand spanking they are 'all' bawling and screaming like little boys and girls. There has never been a child that comes close to making it all the way to the hairbrush without crying at all. They all are crying, and crying HARD well before my hand spanking is done.

I never spanked just for bad grades. I only spanked if my children attained that bad grade because I knew they didn't try their best. I would have no issue if they received a C grade, as long as I knew they worked hard in gaining it. My son had a lot of trouble in school, so we worked with him a lot.

Now yes, there were times he was just lazy as he also hated school, and for being lazy (and getting poor grades because of it), I most certainly spanked, and I spanked VERY soundly for it. And yes, I felt it was effective, as it wasn't something I had to spank for all too often over the years.
