My oldest will be fourteen next month. The last couple of times I spanked him, He begged me not to turn him over my knee. Having to bare his butt for the spanking didn't bother him as much as the thought of being over my knee. He's even said "over the knee is for babies." I know of at least a couple of his friends that get spankings at home, and I'm thinking he may have been told that by one of them. I can understand that. I remember feeling more embarrassed when I got spanked bare over Momma or Daddy's knee when I was in my teens. But at the same time, the embarrassment is part of the punishment. I know a few times when he started to act up all I have to do is say, "You aren't too big to go over my knee." and that usually gets him to settle down. To my younger son and my daughter, over the knee is all a part of it.
