My daughter will be 4 years old next spring, she's already eager to go barefoot all winter! She understands it's not good if her feet go stiff and numb, and she will tell me when she's uncomfortable but she has no problem going barefoot outside every day, as the temperatures are a few degrees above freezing.

Going barefoot everywhere, every day and going out in (almost) every weather is a great way to get adapted to the seasons. When it's wet and rainy, bare feet are also a lot more practical than anything else, and different from rubber boots, splashing in puddles really becomes a fun experience.

Like your daughters her feet (and hands and face) are the last things to remain uncovered when bundling up warmly. I also made her legwarmers. Where did you get the "cloth topped barefoot sandals" from, are they self-made or bought?

And I also took her to the christmas market where her glowing pink bare feet really stand out among all the winter boots ...
