Congratulations! Sometimes it's not an issue after all. I hope they can continue to go barefoot to school for as long as they desire, and maybe find others who like to try the same?

When my children started going to school barefoot I had prepared a letter in which I stated that I didn't hold the school responsible for any injury ... It turned out that that wasn't needed after all. Now they don't think of taking along any kind of footwear.

It seems like some others like to slip off their shoes in class but our three are the only ones so far who don't even bring any with them. My daughter said though that she has seen another girl who was occasionally barefoot all day when it's hot.

We haven't talked about winter yet; I don't worry about buying new shoes until the need arises, whenever that is. When we were in town recently, I was barefoot with the kids because it was such a nice day, as we passed a shoe shop my youngest son said "no we don't need to go there" ... I had a chuckle as I thought of his shoes, stored in the basement, he's probably grown out of them and we haven't even kept track of shoe sizes. Oh and we saw some other barefoot kids in town, great excitement!
