Subject: X can't handle the goat motor to motor.
In reply to: J.C. 's message, "eunice and wore out" on 23:24:59 08/03/03 Sun

The honest truth is that my motor was running pump gas and went 10.51 @ 131 mph w/ a tight converter, no trans-brake, no 2-step, no line-lock, through the Flowmaster mufflers, w/ a set of 3.70 gears on true 10.5" tires in 95+ degree heat.
I can't beat a race car that leaves the line wound up tight as a rubber-band w/ all the race car gadgets.
However, if you will drive your street car alongside mine to the Sonic in Eunice, order some grub, and then drive it back to the track w/o overheating, refueling with race gas, or going low on battery power, I WILL run you motor to motor; NO PROBLEM, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. But the facts are the facts and are sometimes tougher to swallow than that greasy burger from the Sonic.
You see, I used to run those high c.r. race motors and found out very soon that it wasn't worth the mess. IE: shearing flexplate teeth, limited cruising range, and added fuel expense. Nothing is nice if you can't use it... make all the rationalizations that you wish, but deep down inside, you know the truth.
I will however run the goat again, nitrous to nitrous, and there will be more giggles than just the "giggle gas"
You witnessed my street tune-up only. That was the extent of power-adder that normal highways will handle (with X at least). People that think 149mph was X's threshold will be sadly mistaken. I ran the car w/ the same tiny nitrous jets that 'caused Turbo Mike/SS-747 to "go down in smoke"
If the accessory drive belt would've hung on after the successive attempt at the Eunice track, you nonbelievers would've seen that I don't make this stuff up. I don't have to lie about a race. If someone beats me, then he does and I will acknowledge it.
So, if the goat didn't suffer a "meltdown" I will look forward to a rematch this weekend; 'cause Big Nasty knows that she wasn't even being leaned on.
I'm sure that I'll never "tree" J.C., but I am sure that the goat better not wander over the yellow dividing line as X will run through him at about the 700 ft mark.
No land will be given to a car that launches as hard as J.C.'s but how about best E.T. to best E.T?
