Subject: Remembering a friend

I'm sitting at home alone on this Memorial Day reflecting on my military service as a much younger man. I'm not one for war stories and think today more of the fine men and woman I served with. This nation since It's inception has given a million lives to preserve not only our freedoms, but those of other nations.What greater selfless contribution can be made by man to his fellow man then willingness to sacrifice ones life.Although war is so senseless, unfortunately seems it's part of our DNA. So there will be many more memorial days to be observed. Hopefully this tradition will prevail.
