Love all old movies.

I don't really have a funny people repetoir. I like shows. I think 'The Nanny' is the funniest show on TV at the moment. [reruns of course] It is the only show I actually get hysterical over. It is a scream. I laugh practically the whole way through every show. That time Niles made CC cluck like a chook was just hilarious. I also like 'Home Improvement.'You know Tim the tool man. Although I liked him better in the early days. I love all British comedy. I loved Dick Emery and I love Penelope Keith. We also have alot of Aussie comedians that do shows. Mainly rip off stuff. It is all based on what Paul Hogan started off with in the 70s. We really haven't gotten much past that. Paul Hogan's TV specials were a scream and recently I bought my mother a video of some of his old sketches and they are still really funny especially in the 70's clothes. Some Aussie shows featuring our comedians are 'Fast Forward', 'Comedy Company', 'Full Frontal', 'Big Girls Blouse.' All these just consist of short sketches ripping off something or someone. The woman who was Mrs Hogget in Babe , Magda Szubanski, features in alot of these comedic shows. We have other shows that are toungue cheek like 'Frontline.' It ripped off the news /media world. It was an actual show and not sketches. We don't really have sit coms. They are the American department. We have had some which were ok. 'Hey Dad" was ok.'Acropolous Now' was funny. The guy who starred in that went on to produce the stage show 'Wogs out of Work' and now the movie 'Wog Boy.' Our comedy mainly stems from ripping people off and making fun of them and ourselves and our culture. Kind of laconick [sp] and cynical or larrackinish [sp]. The Panel is a funny show too. A group of people sitting around discussing current affairs. The stuff they say is very funny. It isn't really scripted either. They just have an agenda and they talk and as they are all comedians , what they say is very funny.

It is a shame you Americans cannot get a sample of some of our shows. Just to give you a look at what comes out of another [obscure little out of the way unthought of]country. To see if you get it or not, or even like it.
