Somebody had mentioned this on the Scully board and I am NOT pleased to hear it!! I won't watch an entire season of "Mulderless" XF and I sincerely doubt DD would be willing to come back for a ninth season, since he's only agreed to half the eps for Season 8, and was very reluctant even to do that.
It seems to me having an entire season of "Scully-only" XF will totally screw up the MSR and make another appearance of Mulder and Scully in a second "XF" movie quite unlikely. Which is a damned shame, because DD has said he'd be happy to continue playing Mulder in a XF movies virtually indefinitely, he just wants to get away from the grind of a weekly TV series.
I would much rather see "XF" end as a TV series after Season 8, then continue for the next 20 years as a movie franchise with the original characters, then see a 9th (and maybe 10th) season without Mulder and never have any more "XF" movies.
