Kande is frantically flipping through catalogue after catalogue, sweat beading her forehead. She glances over at her sister, who is leaning back in a chair with her ankle crossed over her knee, exchanging Christmas stories with CW, who is knitting at a more relaxed pace than usual.

"Hey you two!" Kande barks at them. The two look up and then smile knowingly at each other. Kande walks over to the table, her huge stack of catalogues piled up in her arms. "Why aren't you jumping around getting things ready for the Christmas party and buying gifts for the Mayor?"

"Because we're done," KS informs her smugly.

"That's right," CW adds. She gestures towards two packages beneath the tree. "The envelope on the left is from KS. The other package is from me, although now it's empty. The Mayor has already acknowledged my gifts as perfect and is using them."

Kande gapes at them. Scully99 scurries over to the table, her arms draped with diamond necklaces and watches. "Which of these do you think the Mayor would like?"

KS and CW pretend to consider. Then KS takes pity on her. "All of them."

Scully99 clutches her chest. "All of them! I can't afford that! I just opened the boarding house. I haven't even had a single guest yet."

CW shrugs. "If you want to get in good with the Mayor from the beginning..."

Scully99 pours the jewelry into a big box, deftly wraps it, and adds a big bow, Martha Stewart-style. "Oh, all right. I do have the house rented the entire month of January and Scully's family rented it the week of Christmas and New Year's."

"See? Was that so hard?" KS asks her, giving her shoulder a pat and then returning to the 'Torturer's Weekly' magazine she had been reading.

"Yes, it is hard!" Kande clasps her catalogues in her sweaty arms. "I haven't got the Mayor anything yet. And she didn't like the year's subscription to the Noromo Gazette last year, which means I have to get her two things this year. Plus, I haven't bought anything yet for Dad, or our brother, or..."

KS sits up straight in her chair. "Who else haven't you bought a present for yet?"

Kande gulps. CW and Scully99 look at Kande, then at KS. CW gasps and starts scooting her chair away from the table. Scully99 innocently continues to stand in the line of fire. KS grabs her sister by the front of her tee shirt and pulls her forward until their foreheads touch.

"Have you bought MY Christmas present yet?"
