"I can't believe you dropped my list when the car hit you," she hisses at him.

"Huh? Where am I?" JD weakly opens his eyes. "Honeybunch, you're here. Am I dying?"

"Not as long as you get me a birthday present and find that list!" KS informs him curtly.

"I'll buy you an extra present to make up for it," JD promises her. "Ack! Where are my legs?"

KS waves her hand. "Not to worry, Aunt Madge will reattach them. Here's your laptop and credit card." She looks up as Rabid enters the hospital room with a syringe. KS stands protectively in front of JD.

"Aunt Madge sent me in to get a little blood," Rabid looks hungrily past KS at JD lying helpless on his hospital bed.

"What's the wine glass for?" KS asks her suspiciously. "You're not going to seduce JD behind my back, are you?"

"Wha- me?" Rabid feigns complete innocence. "I assure you, seduction is far from my mind. The glass is for my midmorning bloody mary."

"In a wine glass?" KS continues to eye her suspiciously. "Have you no class?" She turns to JD and opens the laptop.

"Take a note: remind me to get Rabid an etiquette book for our birthday." KS turns and looks again at Rabid who is fidgeting nervously with the syringe. "So...what are YOU getting ME for our birthday? I'd give you my list, but somebody clumsily dropped it."
