...the NDSV u-turns in the commons and squeals to a stop at the curb opposite the trio's position. There is a metallic rattle as the door at the back of the van is raised and sounds of a struggle. A shot rings out, a woman screams. Suddenly, a figure in a blue hospital rope is thrown from the vehicle and with a spin of tires on gravel the NDSV disappears into the Shipperville Night.

The figure lies still on the ground in a fetal position. Tentatively KM, Kande and SMH approach.

"That looks like..." KM begins.

"It is," Kande completes, "It's her. Back from her decontamination." Kneeling down facing the fallen figure the Klub owner addresses the woman by name, "Rabid? Can you hear me?"

The Shipperville Librarian appears to be catatonic. Jewel-like turquoise eyes open and staring, she is unresponsive. Her lovely red-gold hair has been cropped short and bleached white. And her eyebrow has been peirced.

"Look," KM says gesturing at the Librarian's open palm.

"Is that a cross?" SMH asks turning her head to peer at the pale flesh of the fallen women's hand.

Kande uses the steel-toe of her ugly boot to nudge Rabid's hand into the light. Some unknown fiend has branded it with religious symbolism. A rosary has been tattooed onto the vampiric flesh of the Shipperville Librarian...the strands of beads circle her wrist and traverse the back of her hand leading to the crucifix in her palm. Her flesh smokes around the cross.

"They know," Kande responds, seemingly totally off topic.

She and KM exchange a meaningful glance.

"Alert the others but don't tell them anything," KM tells Kande, straightening up. Kande salutes sharply and dashes off up the street. KM turns to SMH and clasps her on the shoulder dragging her around to face the opposite direction, "Forget what you've seen here tonight, SMH. Buy a house, find a job, go about your business, live your life, and you will be happy here in Shipperville. Just don't look too deeply into the shadows. The truth has arms and legs and speaks in unrhymed couplets."

"Uhm...what about KS?"

"KS is back at my office, sleeping off her last adventure in the file room. Come on I'll introduce you."

"Are we just going to leave that women in the street?" SMH asks, trying to break free of KM's hold to look behind her.

"What women?" KM asks, innocently.

Alarmed, SMH shoves away from the Shipperville Mayor and turns around. The street is empty. In the distance a dog barks. Meanwhile, another part of town, CW takes a long sip of rootbeer. A siren is heard and then off SMH's startled face...we go to credits...
