Thanks for bringing up one of my favorite topics Stardoe. :-)

As for the first time, I still feel Per Manum is a good possibility but now I have a new reason. The SS said that she invited him to her bed. They were in Scully's apartment here. Also, this was right after Scully got the news about the invitro and when all that was going on. So I was thinking that the SS watchers might be paying even closer attention then to Scully's activities and know all about how she was undergoing an attempt to get pregnant. Plus there might be a connection between them and Scully's bad doctor (what was his name?). So they might have been watching very closely to see how it played out and saw her and Mulder together at her apartment.

And then there's the usual reasons about how close they seemed at the end of that episode. It didn't look like Mulder was going anywhere soon. The problem still is, we don't know exactly when PM takes place but I vote for before all things. Didn't Rabid have a timeline theory on this? Where is Rab anyway? I hope she saw this ep! And GWW too!

Alpha was earlier (in Season 6) but on the jealousy issue, I think Mulder and Scully could display jealousy traits way before they declared themselves a couple. Scully was jealous of Phoebe Greene (though I doubt she would admit it). They both have always been possessive of each other whether it could be considered for romantic reasons or not.

I noticed the music too. I heard the singing lady music that was known as "Scully's theme". But didn't that sytart in Within/Without (like when Scully went to the bathroom to throw up?). Did they use the all things music too? Now I'll have to watch again!
