Kande covers her mouth with one hand and steadies herself against the bar with the other. Rabid hobbles to her feet, somewhat hampered by the fact that a distracted Bubba has tied her shoelaces together. Stardoe pales remembering all the items she has placed herself into Mt. Krychek. For 5 minutes after a muffled Ka-Boom has sounded, no one speaks.
Then everyone starts chattering and going about their business.

Kande looks around in disbelief. "That's my sister that just fell after that nuclear device!"

KM snorts. "Oh please! You know that place is honeycombed with escape tunnels. I'm sure KS is fine."

"And if she's not?" Kande asks, going over to her closet behind the bar and bringing out all her black clothes. "Ooh, I'd forgotten how good I look in black."

"Oh well," Stardoe shrugs. "The town will be down to one token morono. Like it should have been all along."

Kande glares at her. "I would give anything to have my sister back again."

Bubba surreptitiously adjusts the microphone hidden behind the rubber plant in the corner of the bar.

"Anything?" KM is amazed.

"Are you sure?" Rabid quizzes her.

"Positive?" Stardoe sniffs.

Surrounded by disbelievers, Kande feels a need to take a stand. "Yes, anything." she says stolidly. "Even my entire collections of CDs, DVDs, and Doc Martens. But really," she gestures over at Mt. Krychek which is smoking steadily, "what are the chances of that?"
