By all indications, Brian's departure was mutually agreeable to all parties in the band. Mick and Keith gave him an out, and Brian took it. There's no evidence to suggest that an ultimatum was issued, or that Brian was summarily fired. Yes, the band wanted to tour and at the time Brian had issues that precluded his involvement. The "they all say he was fired" group of so-called experts are reaching a conclusion that is based on pure speculation and/or false assumption. And Brian would have had a lot of reasons for wanting to leave at that point -- a need to express his own creative ambitions, an opportunity to work with musical peers (to possibly include Lennon, Hendrix, Marriott) all of whom respected Brian as an artist, the whole Anita & Keith thing, and getting out from under the GT's increasing domination of the band to name but a few.
