In reply to: S’non and Loveth 's message, "Everyone Deserves a Chance to Fly!" on 19:51:47 11/29/05 Tue

Both Raskith and his rider, while not quite as sex-mad as some of the riders in the Weyr, are known for their healthy appetites. Unfortunately for the dragon, at least, there have been few green flights that have stirred his blood since they'd arrived at the Weyr, and that was more than a Turn ago. When Massath had risen, he'd restrained himself, or rather his rider had restrained him at R'ven's request - for while Raskith and Massath are fond of each other, neither they nor their riders care to Weyrmate, and as they're already close friends R'ven had feared that others might consider it a closed flight. (It doesn't help that Raskith knows all of Massath's tricks at this point, and he likes to take advantage of it while she prefers long flights; Massath is thoroughly tired of being flown by a blue who can have her in his claws ten minutes after she's blooded her kill. Raskith thinks she's entirely too picky about that, but he'll hold his peace.) But even after Massath's flight is over, Raskith still burns to fly, and when he hears Loveth's first cry, it rouses him from his rest on the heights. She's a lovely green herself, and he would rise for her on her own merits, so if Raskith was more interested in thinking he'd no doubt consider himself a very fortunate blue indeed right now. But he's a dragon of action, so instead of pausing to exercise his brain, Raskith rises to his feet and launches himself off the heights.

Under the circumstances, S'kar is not at all adverse to his dragon's sudden choice. Smiling and bowing his way out of a conversation, he manages to retain some sembalance of dignity until he makes it outside and is no longer under the eyes of the entire Lower Cavern. At this point, the bluerider abandons all pretense and breaks into a run, hurrying in the general direction of the bowl. He won't ask Raskith to delay by picking him up, as long as the blue lends S'kar his eyes to locate the greenrider in question. Arriving at the bowl, the brown-skinned bluerider slows to a jog, reaching up to run a hand through his short black hair as he casts about. If the dragon is Loveth, the rider would be S'non, he remembers. S'kar hasn't actually had any more interaction with the man than a passing wave in a hallway or bathing his dragon at the same time, but he recalls that the greenrider is much paler than him, an inch or so taller, and much more fragile-looking than most dragonriders tend to be. Presumably he has somebody to do his heavy lifting for him. Spying a flash of blond hair, S'kar zeroes in, slowing to a walk and then stopping a respectful distance from the man, who'd seemed unaccountably dismayed a moment ago but is now smirking with what S'kar assumes is his dragon's emotions. Now that he's arrived, the bluerider allows Raskith's lust, desire, and admiration for the green to filter into his mind. He'll have to stay somewhat sensible for this flight, because the bluerider knows full well that Raskith isn't going to keep his head and somebody has to do the tactical thinking, but the thrill of being caught up in the dragons' emotions and knowing that the greenrider feels the same unresistable urge is part of what S'kar loves so much about flights. As his dragon's feelings wash over him, the bluerider smiles a little in anticipation. He'll do his best to win this flight, though even if he loses, being part of it is satisfaction enough.

Being winged, of course, Raskith has easily beaten his rider to the place where Loveth had blooded her kills. He dips briefly, skimming the ground, and then his violet-red eyes fix on her, whirling faster at the intoxicating sight. The green voices her challenge, and the sound makes Raskith tremble with desire, urging him upwards in pursuit. The blue, a slight golden tint cast upon his normally saturated blue hide by the setting sun, takes a deep breath and bellows a bugle of his own, answering Loveth's challenge and assuring her of his pursuit. He broadcasts his desire and admiration towards her, doing his best to express that in his eyes, right now, Loveth is the most perfect, beautiful, desirable green on all of Pern, and he will go to any lengths to make her happy and win her favor. Raskith gives Myth only a scornful glance, then turns his attention away, deeming Loveth far more important than this inferior rival. He's quite big for a blue, strong and fast and well-experienced in the art of catching greens, and he's quite determined to win this flight and the beautiful prize at the end of it. (Never let it be said that Raskith lacks pride or self-confidence. Under other circumstances, in fact, S'kar would bemoan his dragon's perhaps excessive belief in his own power... though right now, the bluerider shares Raskith's arrogance and determination.) With strong, sweeping beats of his outstretched wings, Raskith races after Loveth, all his being focused on the beautiful green he pursues.

((I'm cloning here, but I don't think that'll be a problem. I just want to give Loveth a bit of competition, y'know? ^_~ Most of our lovely ladies of the air seem to appreciate knowing that more than one male is interested in their charms.))
