M closed bc the owner needed to tend to her own family in Ireland. She tried her best to keep the school going remotely. But in the end, it did not work out. -- No name, 00:47:25 02/28/24 Wed (d-65-60-191-203.oh.cpe.breezeline.net/65.60.191.203)

It seems like they have merged well with the other school (Irwin?) so far!

More inside -- Millennium closing, 21:53:47 02/29/24 Thu (024-210-041-052.res.spectrum.com/24.210.41.52)
In short, the owner moved to Ireland.
Millennium was filled with passionate dancers and teachers, and this is why it was a successful school. However, there was also serious dysfunction.
There are lots of opinions on why the school closed and whose fault it was.
Ultimately, everyone was lucky there are enough other schools nearby that everyone was able to find a good school to continue their training.
There were two active teachers at the time of the school closure, although the owner would come for workshops and camps and did some virtual private lessons. One of the TCRG’s who left opened an adult only school in Columbus, the other joined Irwin Academy. The owner, who remained in Ireland, encouraged the dancers to join Dwyer, who took over the Millennium studio in Columbus.
A few dancers opted to follow the owner’s advice to join Dwyer. Many of the dancers decided to continue their training with the teacher who joined Irwin, the rest went to Richens, or Rankin Holland and with the exception of a few people, everyone is happy and supportive of their former classmates.

Thank you for understanding! -- No name, 14:48:46 03/03/24 Sun (024-210-041-052.res.spectrum.com/24.210.41.52)
One last word of advice.
If a person is leaving the academy because they got burned when they found out their teachers were engaging in score fixing… you might want to consider a school whose teachers aren’t also judges.
Hard to participate in favor trading if your teachers aren’t judges.

Tons of Schools have Academy as part of their name. The Academy -- Is a basic name, 07:31:21 03/18/24 Mon (NoHost/107.121.100.12)
And confusing to many. Nothing stands out about their tracksuits. Basic black and white. I can see how it could be confusing to other schools.

they lack style -- For all their talent a big, boring A is all they got ;), 08:59:21 03/20/24 Wed (NoHost/184.105.111.53)
Academy has some dancers with talent so no snark there; some of their kids are legit and work hard.
Their logo/style is in need of an update. Their simple A makes them look like something out of the '80s!

Sabotage? -- Big accusations, 12:45:07 03/05/24 Tue (NoHost/184.105.111.53)
I'm not sure what that poster is getting at re: sabotage...the school closed and the teachers/students just had to transfer/move to another school, etc., as explained by other posts here.

Let’s be kind -- Katie Commins, 16:05:40 02/24/24 Sat (NoHost/24.32.71.79)
I can hear how angry you are, but it is a little hypocritical to post on a public board some pretty nasty comments about a young adult who has worked hard and did well at the Oireachtas. That’s petty and childish. I understand that this must have been very difficult for the dancers and my heart truly breaks for the difficulties they faced last year and this one. How wonderful that there are so many great options in Columbus area. I think you should either edit your comment so you aren’t targeting very young adults who compete or delete it entirely. …. Or sign your name.

Not Okay -- No name, 19:46:35 02/24/24 Sat (174-105-194-112.res.spectrum.com/174.105.194.112)
The dancer in question is a multiple WQ and is a lovely dancer. Many dancers find early success and then need time to adjust their dancing and find a new style that compliments their new build when they have growth spurts - especially the dancers who are suddenly tall.
If you don't like Iriwin, fine, but please don't attack one of the dancers and dismiss the hard work and determination it takes to navigate college and competitive Irish dance.
