What's the story behind the RT O (Oireachtas maybe?) shirts? Unless the O references something else.

TY for the clarification! The shirts aren't that bad lol.

RT doesn't post a lot, so I am really curious what "a bunch of backhanded nonsense on facebook" means?? What did I miss?? What is the tea here???

Basically, excommunicated family because they wouldn’t kiss the ring, and then after went all in with their “heart family” tees and posts. At the least, it is in very poor taste. Most likely, incredibly vindictive.

Has anyone considered that it was actually the father’s decision to leave.

Has anyone considered that as a couple they searched multiple options before choosing a new school.

Has anyone considered that as a couple they waited until the school term was over which could easily have been the least disruptive time for RT, had JT not decided to make it an issue.

Has anyone considered that in three short months their boys went from being unchallenged and not allowed to progress, to mastering new steps and dancing very successfully at their first Oireachtas in both Solos and Teams.

Has anyone considered?

I wonder what other schools they considered?

Academy
Irwin
ML
RH/RRH
Claddagh
Maybe a few more I'm missing. There's so many schools down here, it's crazy. To be fair Cbus is the next Atlanta and is GROWING big time.

I'm surprised they don't have Irish dance schools in Delaware, Newark or Grove City.

What better school is there than The Academy if you want to slap your family in the face? RT's archenemy!

ML is a nonstarter and a good 45-50 minutes away. Dwyer is incredibly small and not going to be talent development if that's what you're looking for your kids.

Irwin is also further away on the other side of town. Irwin and RH have closer ties to RT - all those TCs grew up dancing together. The Academy is neutral in that sense, has good fundamentals for their younger dancers, and has the bonus of giving RT the finger as they dislike the Academy far more than the other local schools.

At the end of the day, we don't know what AD and her husband considered because they've kept their mouths shut and have taken the high road with all of this, unlike JT.

There's another school out there, Claddagh in Worthington.

JT sounds like quite the character lol and I'll leave it at that!

It's kinda crazy how all the dance schools are outgrowths of the original school (Richens Academy). One big "family" (in a certain Day Glo script against a black background) in this sport...

My daughter didn’t know the terminology that others her age did. Her skills were basic but she kept “winning”. She worked hard to get caught up to where she should be and made it into OC but required a lot of hard work. A is basic and they seem to want to keep it that way but that’s not how dancers grow. My daughter is not the only one this happened too. Once you go to A, it’s hard to leave because they will trash you, attempt to sabotage at majors and tell other dancers that you were close friends with, not to speak to you. It’s also hard to stay with the treatment many dancers receive. I don’t know how anyone who has a clue transfers there.

It sounds like, as an unbiased observer, that both RT and the A are coasting on rep:
1) Big names
2) Simple steps (Academy) or 3) same old choreo year in year out (RT)

Not saying either school is bad at all or trashing them, but based on what I've learned, they have talent and skill, but having legacy matters.
