Several former Academy dancers recently got their tcrg. They should start their own school -- They were burned by A, 02:04:00 02/09/25 Sun (NoHost/104.28.39.154)

Yikes re: new TCs -- AD sounds like an interesting person, 10:02:50 02/09/25 Sun (d-69-171-195-3.oh.cpe.breezeline.net/69.171.195.3)
For better or worse, you won't be bored by the AD saga :p

AD would love for anyone to believe that they "looked" for other options. -- No name, 08:12:47 02/10/25 Mon (static-customer-assignment.goskope.com/24.206.84.4)
What better school is there than The Academy if you want to slap your family in the face? RT's archenemy!

Yeah not really..... -- NT, 10:38:39 02/10/25 Mon (d-23-245-192-45.oh.cpe.breezeline.net/23.245.192.45)
ML is a nonstarter and a good 45-50 minutes away. Dwyer is incredibly small and not going to be talent development if that's what you're looking for your kids.
Irwin is also further away on the other side of town. Irwin and RH have closer ties to RT - all those TCs grew up dancing together. The Academy is neutral in that sense, has good fundamentals for their younger dancers, and has the bonus of giving RT the finger as they dislike the Academy far more than the other local schools.
At the end of the day, we don't know what AD and her husband considered because they've kept their mouths shut and have taken the high road with all of this, unlike JT.

Don't forget Claddagh :) -- door number 5, Irish dancing is alive, 22:28:44 02/10/25 Mon (d-69-171-195-3.oh.cpe.breezeline.net/69.171.195.3)
There's another school out there, Claddagh in Worthington.
JT sounds like quite the character lol and I'll leave it at that!
It's kinda crazy how all the dance schools are outgrowths of the original school (Richens Academy). One big "family" (in a certain Day Glo script against a black background) in this sport...

Isn’t that for adults? AD can’t send her kids there. -- NT, 07:14:57 02/11/25 Tue (d-23-245-192-45.oh.cpe.breezeline.net/23.245.192.45)

Challenging new steps? LOL -- Not a comment on the kids but Academy choreo is a joke, 19:58:53 02/10/25 Mon (a172-225-29-33.deploy.static.akamaitechnologies.com/172.225.29.33)

When my daughter transferred from the Academy in PC, her new TC said she was more like a Novice dancer that was close to PW. -- No name, 08:31:51 02/11/25 Tue (a172-226-31-117.deploy.static.akamaitechnologies.com/172.226.31.117)
My daughter didn’t know the terminology that others her age did. Her skills were basic but she kept “winning”. She worked hard to get caught up to where she should be and made it into OC but required a lot of hard work. A is basic and they seem to want to keep it that way but that’s not how dancers grow. My daughter is not the only one this happened too. Once you go to A, it’s hard to leave because they will trash you, attempt to sabotage at majors and tell other dancers that you were close friends with, not to speak to you. It’s also hard to stay with the treatment many dancers receive. I don’t know how anyone who has a clue transfers there.

sounds like RT coasting on rep, like the big A -- Different school same story, 08:52:00 02/11/25 Tue (NoHost/184.105.111.53)
It sounds like, as an unbiased observer, that both RT and the A are coasting on rep:
1) Big names
2) Simple steps (Academy) or 3) same old choreo year in year out (RT)
Not saying either school is bad at all or trashing them, but based on what I've learned, they have talent and skill, but having legacy matters.

My daughter danced with R/T for 15 years & the choreography changed every year. -- What are you talking about? Sheesh!, 14:27:03 02/11/25 Tue (syn-065-189-058-218.res.spectrum.com/65.189.58.218)

Look at the size of the school and then their results. Or the steps that never change. Coasting on Ann's rep 100% -- NT, 10:40:17 02/10/25 Mon (d-23-245-192-45.oh.cpe.breezeline.net/23.245.192.45)
