Subject: Question about second chance

I could have sworn that the rule was as if you were dancing second chance you had to have danced the first round first-did this rule go away? I’m noticing dancers starting to just registered for second chance round without doing the first round to take advantage of smaller groups on fresh legs. Maybe I’m imagining that that used to be a rule because I can’t find it anywhere, but it…seems like it should be a rule.

I must have seen it on another syllabus and just assumed it was the standard rule, thanks for clearing that up!

I can honestly say my daughter has never won both first and second chance. There have been times she’s won first chance and the results weren’t out before second chance so we didn’t sit out because we didn’t know, and in those situations she’s usually still placed but never won it twice. I’m sure it happens but it’s definitely not all the time. I do think the name “second chance” is a bit of a misnomer though if dancing in the first round isn’t required.
