There is absolutely no way that a person could get a high score on this IQ test without knowing math very well. The Densa test is a cleverly designed math test, and implies that only people who know math are intelligent.

A person can be just as intelligent as another is without knowing any math at all.

From my own perspective, I would say that the Densa test was really designed to force an orientation in students towards the types of jobs that were currently available at the time. America needed a ton of assembly line workers, for example. Skills which would be useful for assembly line work would be the ability to determine differences in shapes from different angles, quickly.

Encourage scientific and math skills. America's skills at the time needed just the same types of skills as you see in the Densa test.

Support the particular skills in schools before they're needed, and cause everybody to start mindlessly racing towards that Capitalist carrot that you want them to race towards.

...

Another interesting aspect of the Densa IQ test was that it was always timed. If the test was truly developed to determine IQ, meaning that a child had the capabilities that don't usually appear until later in life, at an earlier stage in life, why would speed be important as far as intelligence goes? But, speed is of ultimate importantance in the extreme competitive atmosphere of industry and the workforce.

I, for example, tend to do things very slowly. I take a very long time doing things. Does that mean I'm less intelligent than others are? However, all IQ tests are encouraging speed. Again, it's true purpose is to help stamp out the mindless cogs for the Capitalist machine.

I think it is very telling that over 70 percent of all people going through MIT go into military-related positions.
