Author: Marithura & Marthur on Sarinor, flit flocks
Subject: Kilven's concern
In reply to: Hollis & Sunitie 's message, "- Watchful -" on 06:22:22 09/13/02 Fri

I will be with my Marithura always. I hope all will be well. She is so sad now. Her Clutchmate helps all he can, but he is no Healer. She needs a Healer. Thank you for calling for help. I do not know my new kind here. I do not know who to seek.
Sarinor's tone changed from sadness to one of slight confusion and vulnerability. Upon closer inspection, one would see that he was barely grown, and had not even fully filled out yet. At the time of the Disaster, he had only just been learning to between, and was very lucky to have escaped with -his- and her clutchmate at all. Now, he sounded almost childlike in his helplessness.

Marithura, meanwhile, was stretched out across the nest her Kilven made for her, slowly massaging her tummy, trying to soothe the child within. It seemed as though there were arms and legs poking her everywhere. She thought wryly that the little one must be an acrobat...like his or her father. That sobered her considerably. She hoped with all her heart that her child would not be as reckless as the father. That had been the cause of his death-- But she slammed the door on that. No time to remember -that.-

She wondered whether Sarinor had caught the thoughts, and checked to see. She was rather surprised and puzzled to find his mind closed to her...as though he were elsewhere. Sarinor?

After a few moments of silence, as though he were listening to something else, her Linked answered her.
Hollis, the one with the little gold, speaks to me. I speak to her now. She has called for help for you. I have thanked her.

Oh, I am glad. I fear for the child. Marthur is right. I HAVE done too much today. Thura looked around, trying to take her mind off of the pain. She saw the older woman on the other side of the fire, with some sort of needlework beside her. The woman had not spoken yet, so Thura did not speak either. Perhaps she too wished for solitude. Nearby she saw a young (?) man lying on the ground, relaxing, with one of those unusual flying creatures that had roosted in the tree where she had found her flock. He had not spoken either. She wondered who they both were. Were they natives, or were either of them refugees as well? Until they spoke up, she would not know.
