They were small and limby. Their legs and ears hardly fit on their small frames. But they were vivacious and therefore adorable. She nuzzled the young female with a gentle nudge of her snout as her coat was pulled at. She didn’t mind and knew that roughhousing was part of the aging process. She cast a quick glance upward as Moina lay to the earth. She open her mouth now wide, a whine of play escaping to the female. Kosses’ tail beat faster and she played gently with the female. The male had come to explore kosses and she turned her attention to him and sniffed at him too. Kosses wondered about their father and if their pack might pose a threat to the three adult wolves and the two new pups. They weren’t really a large enough pack to defend. But if Moina and Gavin had gotten the pups this far unscathed, another set of teeth would definitely help. Kosses didn’t pry with questions but spent the next 15 minutes or so playing with the pups. She smelled, explored, and licked each one a few times. They were forever under her protection. Finally once all the tension of the previous situation had drifted off with the breeze, Kosses stood. “I suspect you’ll want to move farther inward and build a den. There is some good places around the castle’s crumbling base”. She didn’t add that she knew that from experience. “It’s safer from the elements there”. She moved slowly towards Gavin, rubbing her head against him in a more formal greeting. She was glad to have the protection of a male again.
