I have the same type of longing for her to be back, but I know that what happened on Monday was for the best, not only for the show but for her character. She turned things around in a way that was positive for herself, and she didn't need any stupid chip or Blol to do it. All she needed was her own strength. If her character got taken any farther than Monday night, I see only two possible futures: 1.Angel stakes Darla and we grit our teeth and bitch at him for eternity 2.Darla's character becomes just a shadow of its divine majesty, and she becomes just another pathetic Spike.

I think that this was for the best.

And I really feel for you guys. I wasn't very distraught about it, but that was just because I had been gritting my teeth, anticipating death for weeks and hoping for something like what we saw, if it should come. That, or of Darla ripping off Holtz's head in an act of defiance. *grin* Or punching Cordy. *double grin*.

It still tears me up that her character won't be on the current show, but she and Angel got more respect as a ship that B/A has right now. It wasn't made fun of or trashed. Even Cordy was sympathetic in the end.

All I can say is, time and flashbacks will heal our wounds. That, and lotsa lotsa fanfic. Have you been to Definition Bliss? It's an excellent A/Da site. The Whirlwind Series lifted my spirits Monday night, which was why I was able to pull myself out of a rut. That's NC-17 for minors, but there is some really good PG-13 and R fic there as well. Just a thought.

I'll struggle through the next ATS ep as well without her there, but I'll pick my face up off of the floor everytime that baby comes on screen.
