I also apologize to Brian for my postings that could be considered a personal attack upon him or the Dirctor of the Toledo UBF. I apologize to anyone disuaded from meaningful discussion here.

While in UBF, the Great Lakes Region, I considered Brian to be a friend and believe and know that he is sincere in his faith and commitment as he says, even though I disagree heartily with his assessment of the ministry to which he belongs.

A few months ago, I exchanged a cordial email with Brian in which I explained to him politely why my family left UBF and the serious concerns that we had with this ministry. I recalled to him a testimony which he delivered at a prayer meeting in the winter of 1998 while I was residing in Toledo. I recall that he stated something to the effect, "that if Paul Hong asked him to jump off a cliff, do you think I would do it? No", he answered. I can not recall the complete terstimony or the context of it. But this comment stuck in my mind for over 6 years now, because, while Brian did not jump off that cliff, many others did. And as I sat listening to Brian I realized that I had jumped off that cliff under Paul Hong's councel on numerous occasions.

Although I explained to Brian about my bad experience in the Toledo UBF, Brian has not publically sought to give any recognition of harmful behaviours in his ministry and has even suggested that "victims" are possibly culpible themselves. This really hurts and is to some degree slanderous.

Brian's statement about UBF doctrine suggests that he is not acknowledging implicet problems common to all UBF chapters including the Toledo UBF ministry. Recently, he stated in response to the new practise of baptism and communion in the Toledo UBF, "I have participated in communion and baptism. These are handled carefully and not done superficially as in many churches, so that they have real meaning". These words are very harmful and in a sense inflammatory. They are in line with UBF ecclesiological exclusivism. UBF has "real" baptism and real "communion". Other churches have "superfficial" baptism and communion.
The only real doctrine that I have witnessed UBF to consistently uphold is both implicet and explicet exclusivism. I find these words personally insulting and prideful.
