Well here is my second bit of two sense,

Powerups: Hmmmm, if you mean that the shawman becomes weak as he or she uses magic then I believe that their should be powerups, but otherwise I really don't see any need for them if a shawman can not grow weaker.

Guidelines: I believe that their should definatly be guidelines, and they should be somewhere along the lines of no power playing, no killing without concent, maybe limits as to what level of shawman you are if there are levels, which I think levels would be cool to have, because you could have like a all knowing wise-man dude that certifies the shawmans for their next step through a spiritual adventure in the dream-world considering that a lot of shawmanisum is conducted throught he spirit world.

Apprentices: I like apprentices and I think that they would be a good idea to have, so that they can help out the clans with small things if the shawman is busy. But I believe that there should be no more than 2 apprentices per shawmanm, and that shawman would have to give them a test to see if they are ready for apprenticship otherwise there would be millions of apprentices.
