  • She nodded, clinking her glass to his with a bright smile. "To a new life..." she confirmed before she took a long drink and then set the glass down. "I kinda feel like everyone is looking at me..." She murmured, leaning towards him so she could keep her voice low and he could still hear her. Really, there were plenty of men looking at her but not because they knew about her scars, just because she looked good. Of course, that didn't even cross her mind, she didn't think of herself as attractive anymore, she was all used up, no good to anyone and her body had been massacared so there was no reason for anyone to look at her unless they were whispering about her when she wasn't looking. She reached up to absently flip down the collar on his shirt before she took another sip of her drink - her green eyes playing over the bar before she looked back up to him again. She grinned with a wink before she looked over at the various liquor bottles that were so brightly decorating the wall behind the bar. She didn't wait for his answer before she ordered the drinks, she already had a tab going on since she had bought her drink and his beer and just had them add it to that. A grin played over her face, making her look more her age instead of the hardened woman that her life had made her out to be. "Does feel kind of funny, doesn't it?" As soon as they were outside she took a deep breath of the fresh air, tipping her head back to let the cool wind blow over her face and bring down the warmth that was flooding her face. It was good, being out like this, letting some of the weight fall off of her shoulders for just a little while - to pretend everything was alright. She was good at pretending, good at making things go away when she wanted them too. Her tongue crept out to run across her lips slowly before she tugged on his hand to guide him over across the street to the pier that led out over the water. She was silent as she made their way out there, all the way to the edge. Her eyes dropped down the violent waves that were crashing against the rocks, the sounds roaring around her ears.
