• She was all settled into the examining gown as she laid out on the bed, cocking a brow at his humming and tapping. She knew those signs, he was as nervous as she was, he was just better at hiding it. Sliding her eyes closed, she absently prayed that this whole thing would go better then she thought it would. Within moments a doctor came in, smiling at them and then proceeding with the initial examination. It took a good half hour and by the time it was all done she was exhausted from being so tense. The doctor left the room, promising to be back shortly before Sky finally looked to him. She was wondering if he was thinking about when he went through all of this with Fyre. • (He hadn't been thinking that at all, he was mostly just thinking that doctors offices had a really odd smell to them.. and wondering what could cause that smell. That thought was closely followed by one along the lines of how he wasn't sure he liked having the doctor's hands on an area of his woman that was his. That made him smirk a little and the song went ahead and took his attention again. He caught her looking at him and arched a brow.) Something on my face? "First of all, I would like to say that your main focus right now should be on the fact that you are pregnant." He stated, trying to make things a little easier on this couple. "With all the scar tissues and internal damage in your fallopian tubes, it's a miracle in itself that you concieved." He tipped his head to the side, looking down at his clipboard. "This baby obviously is very strong and has a good chance of making it through this." He paused, letting out a low breath. "That being said, I can tell you that currently the baby is healthy and seems to be doing well, your vitals are good and so are its...the chances that you are going to be able to carry to term though is very, very slim." • (From the moment the doctor said the word 'damage' until the end of the lecture, Niko had been holding his breath, brow furrowing in question. He looked from the Doctor to Skye and back, and when the doctor finished speaking his breath rushed out of him.) What kind of damage? (He asked, concern and worry running through his eyes, he went to Skye's side and took her hand, looking down at her and then at the doctor. She had to be feeling like hell, and he was just so damned confused.. she had carried Sam fine.. why would she have trouble carrying this baby. They couldn't lose another baby.) So, we'll just have to have a scheduled cesarean, right? (He said finally, the last word carrying a tone that was almost daring the doctor to tell him otherwise.) • She stiffened at Niko's question, her eyes squeezing shut as she shook her head. She knew this was going to come back to her, she couldn't believe she had tried to act like it hadn't happened. It had happened and she couldn't get away from it. The outward scars may be gone but the internal ones would never go away and now these men were causing her even more pain even though they were locked behind bars hundreds of miles away. Her breath turned ragged as the thoughts of what they had done to her started accosting her mind, her heart picking up pace as she swallowed, shifting in the bed as if trying to get away from the memories. He turned to face her totally, his back to the doctor, laying a hand on her shoulder gently, the other to her cheek. His voice was slightly hoarse as he tried to figure out what was going on here.) The doctor who was in there stepped out, calling to someone before he came back in with the agency's official doctor. He was always alerted when an agent came in for anything, just to be on the safe side, and when he heard about this appointment he had made sure to be here. Clearing his throat, he nodded to Niko. "Mr. Marita, long time no see." He stated softly before he looked towards Skye. "Angelhawk, why don't you get dressed and then we'll talk a little more about all this, shall we?" He wasn't angry, he was seething.. and people got hurt when Freebird hit seething. The last time he had seen this man, Skye had had to have an abortion.. so they weren't on good terms to begin with.) • The man took a long slow breath as deep as he could as his muscle tensed. "I think we should talk about it when Skylar is fully dressed and more stable." He stated, looking over at Sky who was crying and had her arms wrapped around herself. The flashbacks hadn't been happening, the dreams had stopped as long she was sleeping in his arms but all this was bringing back the pain and memories with a vivid detail that was attacking her emotionally and mentally. She could feel the rape, feel the cuts as they tore at her, she couldn't get away from the heat that branded her skin. She just wanted to be with Nio, to be wrapped in his arms, talking about their life and their baby, not talking about how terrorists could have taken that all away from them - could still be taking that all away from them quite possibly. He dropped the man from his grip, taking satisfaction in the deep bruising on his neck, the man was lucky he hadn't taken a swing at him. He turned then, the fire in his eyes almost visible as he went to her, gathering her into his arms and tucking her face into his neck. Her sobs caught in her throat, almost choking her as she stiffened in his arms, still clinging to him as if she knew that he was her life line but the terror just wouldn't let her go. "I wanted them to stop, I asked them, I begged them..." She muttered against his chest, the tears hot and rapid as they strayed down her cheeks, her neck, all over his shirt. She was a mental and emotional mess, he had been the dam that had stopped it all from overflowing but now this, this was beyond him being able to hold back. This was a threat to their baby, to their family, to their relationship and it made her remember how unworthy she was of all of this. "So dirty...so used..." She choked out, shaking in his arms. (He all but moaned the words, feeling weak at the knees with the anger and hurt. This was what had happened to her when she had been held hostage.. they had violated her.. He usually had the words to say when she was upset, he was usually so apt to find his inner strength when she needed a warrior at her side.. but now, he felt useless.. helpless.. he had failed her. His fingers twisted into her gown the same way hers were in his shirt and he felt hot tears spring to his eyes. He hadn't cried for anyone since Fyre, but he had never felt so rocked to the core before either. This was something he couldn't save her from, he couldn't take from her.. it denied him his fundamental position in her life.. he couldn't protect.) I love you baby.. She shook her head, her jaw clenched, her teeth gritting together as she squeezed her eyes shut against the memories. "Plastic, not real..no heart, no feelings..." She bit her lip, drawing a slight bitter taste of coppery blood into her mouth. "Please make them stop..." She wrapped her arms tighter around herself, her breath coming in short gasps. The threat of what they had done to her harming Niko's child had just sent her over the edge, into the memories but this time she didn't have the shield of anger, it was just the pain and the hurt...the terror most of all. • She stopped talking but she kept crying and it went on, the harsh sobs turned into a torrent of tears and then a trickle and then silence as she just rested against his chest. She didn't want to move, she felt so drained. She didn't think she would be capable of speaking or moving for some time. Her eyes closed and within minutes she was fast asleep. A few minutes later, the agency doctor stepped back in, letting out a soft breaht. "Now, do you think your ready to talk?" he questioned, his hand moving to rub at the bruises at his neck, eyeing the young man with the so broken woman in his arms. Things that were enough to make a girl be afraid to be touched for the rest of her life and she would have been except that it was Niko and she knew Niko wouldn't hurt her like that. She had a pounding headache and was a little confused as to where she was when she looked around. She felt the strong reassurance of Niko behind her though, so she moved back a little closer to him, her brow furrowed. "..Damn...my head is killing me." She stated absently, running a hand down her face. Her mind had blocked out what had just happened for the moment, unwilling to deal with the memories again. She ran her hand down his arm, frowning when she felt how tense he was. Her hand shifted to squeeze his softly, a little worried and concerned at the tone of his voice and the look in his eyes. "Niko?" She knew what had happened to her but she had managed to section it off into another part of her mind where it didn't seem so real. All the torture, thats why she had been so intent on dying when she first came back from the mission, she hadn't wanted to live and have to deal with all the afteraffects of everything that had been done to her. He had damaged her so many times.. gotten her pregnant, sent her into the arms of an overbearing man and then deserted her in a job they had tackled together.. and now he had gotten her pregnant again and she might not be able to carry the baby.) But most of all, he just wanted to know that she was his wife, that no matter what happened through all of this he could look at their marraige and know that their relationship was built on love and trust. He wanted her to be his and only his, at his side forever.. and he wanted the right to be the same for her, to stand at her back and be her protector.) She was calming down, back to herself again for right now though sometime this was going to have to be taken care of. She was going to have to talk to someone, see someone, get the mental anguish taken care of. It couldn't be put off for much longer or it would just keep getting worse. She needed to know more about his feelings, that he cared about her for her, that he wanted to marry not because she was carrying his child but because he loved her. When I was younger I always dreamed of us having this special night and you asking me to marry you and me doing the whole teary excited yes and then us making love for the rest of the night...pictured a white dress and a church and all that.
