A call. Her name. A glance up and there he was. Kaiyn. A thought came to mind. My, how much he looks like...
She pounced on a small butterfly that had paused on it's trip. Just as Aarien opened her maw to chomp down on the pretty insect, a gentle paw knocked the flying bug away from her. "Hey! That was mine!" She turned to look up at her aunt, Calprei. She had seemed so big then, like a giant skyscraper towering over the little pup she had been. But later...
Aarien was fighting with her little brother, Hye Sung. He was one of the younger pups in the litter, and she was just trying to help him out. Or so she had said to her mother and father, when truly she was attempting to improve her fighting skills with a little practice. In mid-attack, there was a sound that hadn't come from the younger wolf in front of her. He had only agreed to this when she had said that she would protect him if he let her practice on him. Although she wasn't seriously injuring Sung, Aarien was doing enough damage that if she got caught, there would be some serious punishments involved. Not like Hye Sung would say anything. She had him wrapped. The sound had come from outside the clearing, somewhere in the trees that they had been using as protection and cover. Hye Sung, always the scared wolf pup, ran out of the arena, while his older sister had turned and found Calprei standing in front of her. She was just as tall as her kind aunt, but not nearly comparing in the size of their hearts. Calprei had just stood there...
...just as Kaiyn was now. A gasp escaped her numb muzzle. "...Calprei?" It was just a whisper, not meant for the other wolf to hear, but surely he did hear it. His size was not his mother's, but most surely his father's, the great alpha Ferdie. How her uncle had been. Quite the looker, but also kind in heart. Just as her mother's older brother had been, which reminded her of the rumors that had been circulating about Raumo's return. But that was a different topic to be discussed.
Her crest was given a good shake, as if to clear the image that had just invaded her mind. The likeness was uncanny, but then again, he was his mother's son. Speaking with more firmness, she called out, "Kaiyn. I'm here. And I have news."
