This is the best advice I've heard - if you get a cold you can stuff yourself full of every available remedy and get better in about 3 days, or you can do nothing and get better in about 3 days. I would just take vitamin C and get lots of rest. You are probably pushing yourself too hard ... are you working against big deadlines at work or school? Any other stresses? I actually enjoy illness, gives me impetus to re-prioritize and get some rest and rebuild my strength. Sometimes that's not convenient though, like when you have to go on a plane ride. What I do in that situation is take yin chiao - it will knock a cold out of you as quickly as possible without supressing symptoms, it just makes you pee them out! It burns, but it works!
