Fifi stared. Ava hadn’t meant the last sentence to be funny but Arcane seemed amused all the same. Actually, he seemed amused or happy about everything Ava did or said, even when she was carefully ignoring his subtle admiring glances, or meeting his slight smiles with cold indifference. How could the thought of a skinny little girl slicing people’s heads off, or however it was she did away with them, possibly be a good thing to him? Was he crazy? Maybe he was being polite out of admiration for their father. But then why wasn’t Fifi receiving some of the attention? Esceles was her father too, and she was much more feminine than Ava, as well as being blessed with abundant curves. She was a seductress, for crying out loud, she was supposed to seduce! It couldn’t be the age difference; Ava was only two years older than she was, and at that she still looked older.
Fifi carefully looked her sister over. Straight jet-black hair, curiously large blue eyes, small frame, petite figure, and what appeared to be almost boyish curves, but who could say what with the loose men’s clothing she was wearing? She made her decision; Ava must die. Wait, that wasn’t it. She must somehow find a way to make Arcane fall madly in love with her. Yes, that was it! Perhaps if she had on more glitter…
