• She kind of wanted to go for the walk with her little family but she knew she was wearing a little thin with all the activities that day. She'd had to quit her job, since she was just so damn tired all the time and that was the reason that Jake had taken over the rent on her place. Her parents would have been glad to do it but it was something Jake wanted to do and she knew he liked to take care of her, to look after her so she hadn't put up too much of a fight when he had told her he was planning on putting the money for the rent each month into her account. "Alright..I am going to go call my mama, she wanted me to check on the time of the appointment tomorrow and then I'll take a bath. You'll come sit with me when you get back in from the walk?" • "Sure, of course baby." He assured her with a warm affectionate smile and then kissed her once more, gave her a tight squeeze, and then let her go. "So go do that, and I'll turn on the water, and then I'll see you in a bit." He tugged gently at her hair, then broke away to head into the big bathroom attached to the master bedroom to run her bath water for her - steaming hot - and lit a few candles. Once that was set, he grabbed a hoodie from a chair in the bedroom and grabbed Max's leash off of the kitchen counter. "C'mon pup! Let's go for a walk..." • She went and assured her mama that everything was fine still and she was going to relax for the rest of the night, that Jake was taking good care of her and she would make sure to eat something that evening even though she had eaten pretty well at her parents house. She was kinda feeling bad that she hadn't gone to his 'rents with him and was determined to call Mika in the morning but when he had went she had been sleeping and no one wanted to wake her up when she was getting some good solid rest. Hanging up with her mother after talking to her daddy for a few minutes, she went into the bathroom and smiled when she saw the candles lit and the bubbles in the bath water - he really was to good to her. • Though he didn't want to be away from her for too long - he never did - he wanted to make sure that Max was happy and content and got out to stretch his legs. He had been for a good run that morning, but the pup was young and active - though had been very well behaved thus far and they hadn't been having any trouble with him. After a quick but long enough walk, he was back at her place and letting himself inside once again. Once Max was all unclipped and dried off, he padded off to lie on the tile in the kitchen where it was cooler, and Jake headed in the opposite direction - back towards the bathroom where she was likely still soaking. He knew that she felt a little bad about not seeing Mika that day, but the woman understood all too well what Kesi was going through and was just happy to know that her future daughter-in-law was resting up and taking care of herself.. • She was slipped down in the tub, her head resting on the back of it a little uncomfortably as she gazed at the door, waiting for him to make his appearance. A sweet smile graced her lips as she tried to keep things light for a few more minutes at least before she dove into the serious conversation she was planning on having with him. "Did you guys have a fun walk? I'll have to come with you tomorrow..." She shifted a little in the tub, modestly covered by bubbles with just her head and her bright pink toes peeking out. • "Yeah, it was just starting to get kind of gross out there... But he is such a good boy. You should come with us in the morning." As much as he wanted just to protect her and keep her safe, he knew he couldn't keep her locked up forever - and it would be good for her to get out any way and just get some fresh air, as long as she was all bundled up of course. "We should take him to puppy school or something maybe. He loves other dogs - it would be good for him.." He felt a little bad sometimes that the pup was an 'only child' and had to live in an apartment with no backyard, but really Max was just such a happy dog and he seemed perfectly content with his situation... • She smiled at that, her eyes warm and tender on him as she agreed with his idea. "Yeah, that would be good..." She sighed a little, shifting as the water grew cold. "Get my robe and help me out?" She questioned softly, her eyes on him. "I have something I want to talk to you about but I would rather it be in more a comfortable place...like the bed." She stated softly, honestly, her eyes moving after him as he stood up. She hated for so much to be shadowing over their lives, they had just been through so much in their relationship, you would think it was about time for them to get a break. • "I'll look into that." He added absently before nodding a little and shifting to stand. "Sure baby..." He grabbed her warm fuzzy robe from the hooks and then held it open for her to step in to, his brows furrowing gently. "What's up love?" As if he didn't worry enough, when she got that sort of tone to her voice he just got even more concerned. As scary as all of this was, he was trying to just remain optimistic - faithful that she was going to get better and she was going to be just fine, because he didn't know what he would do with himself if she wasn't okay and things didn't work out just fine. • She just smiled and let herself be enveloped in the warm robe before she headed into the bedroom to tug on a pair of boycut panties and a cami, climbing into their warm comfortable bed. She actually felt pretty good that day, just a little bit sleepy really so she wasn't quite ready to retire for the night. She patted at the bed, wanting him to join her and waited till he was laying next to her before she shifted onto her side to face him, her hand tucked under her cheek as she gazed at him. "So I was thinking..." She bit her lip, trying to figure how to tell him this without upsetting him. • He watched her go and then tidied up things in the bathroom before trailing after her. He flipped off the overhead lights and turned on one of the bedside lamps before crawling on to the bed next to her. His brows furrowed a little as he shifted onto his side as well so that he was facing her, his head resting in one hand, his other fingers running absently up and down her side. "If you want, Kesi, we can do that - so that everything is all legal... But we'll keep planning for the big ceremony for the fall." He spoke softly, a quiet murmur and even offered her a small, reassuring smile - the fact of the matter was he would feel better if they were legally husband and wife before the surgery. But he wasn't willing to just write off the big beautiful wedding that they had talked about - she deserved it, and he refused to be anything but optimistic about how things were going to turn out. • She nodded a little, letting out a soft breath as she smiled a little and tipped her head to the side to get a little closer to him. Her hand shifted to run over his bare side, her eyes soft on him. "Yeah..I think I agree." She stated softly, a sweet smile on her lips as she gazed at him lovingly. "I just want to go into this being your wife and not just your girlfriend." She stated honestly, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek. She wasn't so afraid that things were going to go wrong with the surgery or anything but just in case, it was always good to have a plan and it would just make her feel better. • He exhaled a quiet sigh at that and shifted a little closer to her as well, his fingers lovingly brushing back her hair, his smile lingering for a moment as he nodded. "Yeah, I would feel better too.." He agreed easily and tugged gently at her soft, dark hair, his gaze adoring. As if they hadn't been through enough already, this was just another obstacle in their way - but he knew that when they were old and retired, it would be a good story to tell to the grandkids. It was just making them stronger as human beings. "I'll make the phonecalls tomorrow and get it all set up." • Her lips curled into a small smile and she couldn't help cuddle up beneath his chin, holding onto him tightly, her lips brushing over the bottom of his throat as she closed her eyes and kept herself close to his warm body. "I love you, Jake..." She murmured softly, holding him tightly as she pondered over the years that had gone by in their relationship. They had been through so much, she didn't feel like it was fair but she also knew that they were one of the strongest couples out there, they had been through hell and back at least twice together and nothing was going to drive them apart now. • His arms wrapped tightly around her then and he nestled down into the bed with a deep but quite content sigh, his eyes lightly closed for a moment. "I love you too babe." One hand brushed slowly up and down her back as he shifted onto his back and tugged her close to him again, just enjoying the quiet time with his girl - it seemed like they were so busy these days and so exhausted by the time they got to bed that they never had the energy just to stay awake to cuddle or chit-chat carelessly. • "Early still...I've turned you into such a homebody." She stated with a small laugh and a smile, shifting to let her leg slide between his. They were busy recently between doctors appointments, seeing their families and, well, more doctors appointments it felt like they never had a chance to just be together. She realized then, suddenly, how much she had missed her fiance. Reaching up, she pressed another long kiss to his lips, lingering there as she shifted closer to him. • He laughed softly and shook his head a little - neither of them had ever been much into staying home all the time when they could be out and about. They had always been quite a social pair, but of course lately that just hadn't been an option. "Nah... I don't mind just hanging around." He assured her honestly as a hand slid down to cup her hip, tucked to rest comfortably beneath the fabric of her underwear. "We should go out for dinner tomorrow night maybe?" Nothing big or fancy or strenuous, but just a chance to get her out and to forget about things for a little while. • She returned the kiss for a long moment, a soft sigh of pleasure escaping her lips when the kiss finally broke and she could run her lips down the strong, smooth line of his jaw all the way down his neck. "That sounds nice...we should go..." She paused as she nipped at his neck. "...Italian..maybe Macaroni grill?" She murmured, her voice soft and quiet in the dim room, lit up only by the light streaming in from the window - they had left the porch light on. She thought it would be a good idea for them to get out for awhile, to have some time to themselves. • He echoed her sigh of contentment as the kiss broke and then tipped his head back a little at her wandering lips, his jaw clenching for just a moment as he drew her closer to him. "Italian sounds good... It's been a while." Sometimes, at quiet moments like this when she was feeling okay and doctor's offices were a million miles from his thoughts, it was hard to believe that she was actually so sick with a potentially devastating future. "No appointments? Perfect... Yeah, we should definitely just spend the day hanging out." His fingers on her hip curled around to the small of her back to hold her close, his head dipping a little so he could kiss her forehead.
