The things that take out Phoebe aren't your traditional fighters -- their typically massive templated dudes with strengths beyond what a core race could achieve, with or without magic.

Besides Phoebe usually dies cuz she ends up standing where she shouldn't. ;)

Xalandra died because -- despite Chris's best effort at making her as kick ass as possible -- a charging, huge Wendigo Polar Bear with an insane strength modifier bullrushed her past the "War-Hulk-with-a-Krazy-Axe" and a "DM-who-rolls-more-crits-than-the-entire-party-combined"

What's more, if we hadn't had the Lich Queen to worry about, we wouldn't have spread ourselves out so much and my first 2 spells wouldn't have been wasted trying to deal with her. Look what happened to them all anyway -- dominated or destroyed or banished with very little trouble.

I'm not faulting you by any means, Vince. I'm just saying that a high level fighter vs a high level caster is not a challenge, it's an embarassment -- you're right to avoid them!
