Josh,
I would like to respond on a few points of yours. To be a likeness of God, it is not necessary to look like God. Allow me to explain. I am Jewish, and come from a fairly religious family, which may come as somewhat of a shock to some. I also speak and read Hebrew fluently, and can clarify a few of the quotations you cited from the Bible, as the Bible originally was written in Hebrew, I feel I can provide some form of translation-no matter what my personal views are. The original Hebrew text reads "let us make man in our image, after our likeness." Leading me to infer that man was created to be akin to God, to be Godly, God-Like, but not God. In neither Judaism nor Christianity is God ever described in any physical appearance, only in actions, impressions, no physical form is given to God. However, this does not prove or disprove the big bang, does not prove or disprove evolution, just displays a part God may have played in these occurences. Why could not man have evolved to the point in which God gave mankind an intellect such as God's own, and thus been given the ability to rule and decide? I will not, for the sake of peace, share my personal observations on this particular topic, as it is a touchy topic, and one upon which i have no clear position yet, I try to learn.
