Yup, you're a castaway on a desert island, but at least you get to take a few CDs and DVDs with you. You only have one choice in each category, so what do you pick out of the following?
- Song
- Album
- Classical piece
- Opera
- Musical (show or film)

Also, in Year 3, as you're making friends with a volleyball, you will be treated to one personal performance by your favorite group or artist. Who will it be?

since you allowed us a few cds or dvds, I GOTTA have a few more with me on the Isle of Endless Batteries: Kansas LEFT OVERTURE, and Steely Dan's AJA. As for dvds, I guess FAST TIMES at RIDGEMONT HIGH, Young Frankenstein, and NIGHTSHIFT are my top three all time favs.

But then I'd need a tv to see em on, and I dont have one here and nowhere to plug it in on the Isle, so DANGIT forget all the above.

When I posted this survey, I didn't realize how difficult it was going to be for me to keep to only one answer for each category and no ties! But them's the rules, so here goes:

Song: Invisible Sun (Police)
Album: Time and Tide (Split Enz)
Classical piece: Claire de Lune
Opera: Die Fleidermaus
Musical: Chicago (the show in London--lucky me!)
Gig: Squeeze, reunited with the original members

* Song: "Sands of Time," Fleetwood Mac (1971)

* Album: "The Wheel," Rosanne Cash

* Classical piece: "Adagio" from Bizet's Symphony No. 1 in C Major

* Opera: "La Divina," Maria Callas, collection of arias

* Musical (show or film): Can't think of a musical that wouldn't send me swimming towards the nearest continent, sharks or not, so I'd take another album instead -- "Under The Wishing Tree," by Charlie Sexton.

* Personal performance: Glasgow band Del Amitri, and hopefully they'd smuggle in some contraband shortbread for me while they're at it.

Song: Diana Krall - The Look of Love
Album: Pink Martini - Sympathique
Classical piece: Mahler - Symphony No. 2 "The Ressurection"
Opera: If I couldn't have the ENTIRE Ring cycle of Wagner, I'd settle for Strauss' "Der Rosenkavalier"
Musical: I'm with Debbie on this one - if I never had to listen to another Broadway show tune again, I'd be a happy man.
Live Performance: I'm with Groves' logic on this one (I am a drummer, after all), but for me, it would have to be Diana Krall, or Chely Wright, or Louise Mandrell, or hell, Demi Moore and Meryl Streep both sing... ;-)
