"...thata'way,"Tidus finished.
The group looked to where he was pointing.The trail was dark and gloomy and ran along the edge of the mountain.It reeked of death.
"Really?"Kiana asked.A shiver ran down her back.
"Oh,come on,"Shepherd said.He was apparently taking his traumas now inwardly.
Shepherd trotted off towards the trees.He was about to say,"See,nothing bad",when he realize he was floating in a world of whiteness.The white suddenly flashed to dark and he was falling.
"Ahhh!"
Shepherd hit the floor of wherever he was at with a loud thump.The darkness closed in on him.He heard a growl not to far off.
He was in some sort of cavern.He could tell by the dripping of water and the airy,rotting smell.He glanced around and finally pushed his bang out of his face,revealing his oddly colored violet eye.His eyes slowly ajusted.
"Hello,Shepherd,"the dark man in front of him said with a grin.
"Do I know you?"
"Maybe,maybe not,"the man grinned wider.He had long sharp fangs that glittered in the darkness.Shep grinned back warily,showing his own fangs that were smaller and less sharp.
"I bet your sister Kiana would remember me,"the man said slowly.
"Are you...?"
"Go ahead,I enjoy guessing games,"the man said slowly.
"Bill...er...Tim...Bob..."
"Think of someone that Kiana and your mother knew a while ago."
"Uh,okay,you must be Kalek!"Shep cried out with a laugh.He was only joking around,but the man suddenly smiled as if satisfied.Shepherd grin suddenly vanished.
"No,"Shep moaned.
"Good guess,my boy,you remembered the name of your sire.Too bad this is our first meeting since you were born,"Kalek said with a wicked smile.
"Your a demon,stay away from me,"Shep hissed.
"Oh,is that how your going to treat your old man?Your mother loved me you know,"Kalek said.
"How did I get here?"Shepherd gasped."I don't know you,stay away!"
Kalek chuckled,happy to see his hybrid offspring going through a little of his own trauma.
"I'm not going to hurt you,Shep.I'm going to show you who you need to be to live in this torturous world.Now,you know how I feel when I was seperated from your dam,by that...man!Oh,well,he's dead now.It didn't matter,he wasn't your real sire."
"Stop talking like that...I'm not a beast!"Shepherd cried.
"Oh,but Shep,you are."
