The teams were still tied, 15-15. It was going into overtime. When the teams started to go to the locker rooms, Mikoto grabbed Wakka again.
"What are you doing?" she hissed. "You know that you're not supposed win this!"
Wakka avoided Mikoto's steely gaze.
"You can't do this, Wakka. You don't know what you're going to put us through."
Still, he didn't answer.
Mikoto grabbed Wakka's shoulders. "Look at me. If you won't do this for your own life... do it for mine. Do it for Tidus's. Do it for Yuna's. Just... just lost this one, okay?" she pleaded.
Wakka stared hard at her. What would a blitzball game have to do with losing his life?
"Wakka, don't you realize where you are?"
He cocked an eyebrow at her. "Yeah. I'm in Luca."
"You're not only in Luca... You're in your past."
"What?!"
Mikoto then asked a strange question "Could you ever exactly remember what happened the day you found out that Chappu died?"
"Wha...?"
"Just tell me, Wakka. I need to know."
Wakka thought back. "Well... not exactly... no..."
All of the color drained from her face. "Just don't win," she repeated. "Don't win."
"I won't, but... Why'd you ask about what happened then?"
Mikoto took a deep breath. "That didn't happen then, Wakka. That's happening now."
