 I have been reading some Tibetan Buddhist writings the last couple of days. The references to 'our precious human birth' awaken such a subtle and complex joy in me I could weep. As does this little posting of yours, Cassandra: to wake up 'inexplicably happy', oh yes and hallelujah!

And one of my favorite bits of Rumi:

You make our souls tasty like rose
marmelade. You cause us to fall flat

on the ground like the shadow of
a cypress still growing at its tip.

Rainwater through a mountain forest,
we run after you in different ways.

We live like the verge of tears inside
your eyes...
