Subject: FA Cup replays

It seems a shame that cup replays have been abolished. If Tamworth v Spurs had finished 0-0 after 90 minutes, Tamworth would have been really happy with a draw and the whole town would be celebrating right now. It would also mean their players and fans would get a second bite at the cherry and the experience of playing at a big ground. From a financial point of view, the replay would have been huge for them.

The FA want to reduce fixture congestion, which might benefit the bigger clubs, but the tip of the pyramid wouldn't exist without the base. As an organisation in charge of football at a national level, it has to be question whether this was a good decision.

Perhaps they shouldn't have expanded the Champions League and other European competitions. Perhaps they shouldn't expand the Club World Cup. Perhaps they should stop trying to squeeze yet more out of top-level men's football. Perhaps instead they should look at investing in lower-level football, grassroots/youth football, or the women's game
