But as soon as she did back off and asked the question of the two daughters, he let his eyes slide up to Max who was crossing the room and seeking shelter. A smile would have graced his features but just as his lips began to curl he caught the movement of Lavinia from the corner of his eye. It was already too late to react and so, closing his eyes, he let her fist collide and with an extra burst of speed that he felt through his jaw, she was gone. His eyes welled with tears, hand flying to the already red shadow on his face. Knees weakening from impact (exhaustion, perhaps?), he slumped to the floor and didn�t bother breaking his fall. Head smashing against the white tile and knee banging the coffee table, he lay there with his eyes closed. Unconscious? No. Pretending? Most definitely. Please just leave me the fuck alone, okay Robin? .:.
