• Big time Villanova regularly moves games away from their small time arena, to the BIG TIME arena in South Philly. Stop thinking small. Is St. John's afraid to leave Alumni Hall?   • As usual duq81 and CLK, you both totally miss the point. Vilanova, St. Johns, and Georgetown actually have a student and loyal fan base in their cities. Duquesne has neither,ane it will be embarassing when only 4000 Duquesne fans show up, and the rest of the Consol is filled with the enemy. Maybe your hero Greg A. could let Duquesne students in for $5.00 to help alleviate the situation. Maybe you could give Greg a call and see what he thinks of my idea. Thanks.       • I will guarantee that DU vs. Dayton on January 14 2005 was one such occurance. If there weren't more, it was close. Regardless, their presence was felt right down to a "This is our house" chant from nearly the entire red seat section, the entire opposing section. As was usual back under Nee, the only kids who were cheering were in the all-volunteer band that is bigger than the mostly paid member band that we have now.         • I get your point, I just disagree. You are afraid we will be outnumbered if we play at the Consol. You are entitled to your opinion, but to me that is short sighted. We have a beautiful new arena virtually on campus, and an opportunity to move forward as a program, and you don't want to use it because you are afraid? For years other programs touted their facilities and looked at DU as second class. Not any more baby! • Though I have always said if we want big crowds, we have to win, I agree that having WVU, Dayton, and Xavier at Consol is poor thinking. When we have beaten X and Dayton recently part of it has been because of our Home Court Advantage which WON'T exist. No wonder the AD won't put his e-mail on the atheltic site. Poor Job on those.   • locals will be going to the Consol this year, just to check the place out. If DU does it right and seats everyone in the lower levels, it could be a nice/loud crowd. • The more I think about it, the more I am torn on the home court advantage. On one end, I want a small, intimate environment that is a true home court advantage. I just wish that Palumbo seated about 8000 fans instead of half that. I feel like Consol is too big, but if there is a way to attractively seal off the upper levels, then I will be okay with it.   • 1) I agree with objectivity and applaud that vs. drinking kool-aid but I feel that bringing $$$ donated into it is a little silly. It alienates current/recent students (who are saddled with debt from their own "donation" to DU) and alienates any fans who may not be so lucky to be able to donate. I disagree that we can't be successful - and can't draw fans - at the Consol Center. But we won't see who's right until the season starts.
