I have always thought Michael didn't deserve Nikita. He is the more sympathetic character because he showed movement from bad guy to good. That's much more fascinating than someone who is right all along.

Them's fighting words in some sections of this fandom. I agree with you - to an extent - about Nikita's mission and how quickly some fans were to condemn her for the end of Season 4.

Just to be a little snarky for a moment... don't you also think Michael's more sympathetic simply because he's a man (and a HANDSOME!!!! man at that...) and LFN has/had a predominately female audience?

Now, I *know* that will be considered heresy to some of you. ::shrug:: From where I sit, I saw a lot of Michael's cruelties justified and accepted - and Nikita condemned - only because it was *Michael*.

I'm not sure - frankly - if I liked this story or not, which is why I have not posted my response. However, I think the author has brought up some interesting aspects of the show and the characters and I certainly applaud her LOUDLY for her ability to do so!!!! (and again, kudos to this board and its denizens for being able to discuss this politely even as you disagree. it's been like watching a really wonderful tennis match, watching the ideas fly back and forth).
