Cornell 24 at Dartmouth 28 Cornell is looking really good . It wouldn’t surprise me if Cornell gets the win. But Dartmouth, playing is a tough place to play.
Massey has Dartmouth 27 Cornell 17 with a 78% chance for the win.

Brown 28 at Columbia 17 Both of these teams are better than their records. But I’m picking Brown in this one. Massey has Brown 21 Columbia 20 with a
51% for the win.

Penn 17 at Harvard 31 Penn seems tired , Harvard is the King until someone knocks them off the pedestal. Massey has this Harvard 37 Penn 20 with a 86% chance for the win.

Yale 38 at Princeton 24 Yale seems to be the better team. Although their i’m undisciplined style of play shoot themselves in the foot. To many stupid penalties in every single game, this year. They need to play smarter than that. Massey has Yale 28 Princeton 21 with Yale having a 69% chance for the win

Cheers to you all , GO BULLDOGS.!!

I would assign equal probabilities to 1) Dartmouth winning big, 2) Dartmouth winning small, 3) Cornell winning small, and 4) Cornell winning big.

So yeah- take Cornell and the points. I just hope Dartmouth comes away with a win somehow or other.

I'm thinking it's finally time for Aurich to release the hounds! Aurich has to know that it's time to impress, whether it be for a top 8 seed or an at large selection.

Beating up on Columbia wouldn't have helped, but running it up on Penn might.

Penn was embarrassed on senior day last week by an improving Cornell team, I think they make Harvard work hard for a win in a close game. Dartmouth wins at home as Cornell's impressive win streak comes to an end. Columbia breaks their losing streak with a win over Brown. Yale beats Princeton to go into the game next week with everything on the line for the Ivy League championship.

Ditto on Ivy Wannabe picks. I think Cornell will give Dartmouth a run, but I can't remember the last time we won in Hanover. Go Big Red!

I still get sick thinking about that loss. I’ll never forget how cold it was and how disappointed I was walking back to my room at Six South after that game.

We trashed Princeton at Yankee Stadium and pretty much called it a season after that.

We were very fortunate to beat Brown in the finale. Otherwise, we would have lost any claim to the title and would be called the Greg Norman of Ivy football (and not in a good way).

But they won that game GG - part of Buddy’s best three year run, going 26-4 from 2017-2019. Beating Yale all 3 years and Harvard and Princeton in 2 of the 3 years.

Harvard beats Penn by 14- Crimson have no major weakness and dominant lines and a great QB- 10-0 in 10 days

Brown squeaks by Columbia- The wheels have come off the Lions bus

Cornell beats Dartmouth by 7- Big Red is surging and playing with confidence that has not been seen in years

Yale squeaks by Princeton- Tigers have enough talent to win this game but won't

Penn kicking the FG on 3rd down, leaving time on the clock = dumbest decision in the years.

What was the point? Hedge against a bad snap?

Unless your long snapper has a history of bad snaps, there's no logical reason to try that kick on 3rd down. Trust in the defense? Look at the scoreboard - Harvard had put up 42 points on it already, and their kicker has a leg.
Priore arguably made the worst Ivy coaching decision since Cozza put linemen on the onside kick receiving team leading Harvard by 8 with less than a minute left in 1968. Inarguably, the worst decision in that stadium since then.

Nah. Tom Williams going for it on 4th and, what was it 23, up on Harvard, with a great punter.

Good point. I'd blocked that one out. Thanks for the reminder (sarcasm).
Okay, the worst Ivy coaching decision in the last 14 years. Priore must have attended the Mike McCarthy School of Clock Management.

.... said that Penn didn't have any timeouts left.

So Priore had a choice of kicking the FG on third down, or doing a QB sneak (or a kneel-down) and rushing the FG unit onto the field with 25 seconds left.

He opted to kick on third down.

Obviously, it backfired. But there was at least some logic behind the decision.

It looks like Harvard had a timeout in hand. So even if Penn had run a play to center the ball for a FG, Harvard may have called timeout to preserve time on the clock for their turn with the ball.

I'll walk back much of my criticism from yesterday of Priore's clock management. Mea culpa!

couldn't penn's fg team allowed clock to run down to 2 seconds, and then kicked the fg?

--also why couldn't the qb have spiked the ball to stop the clock?

Harvard had called timeout before the third down play, with 25 seconds left. Harvard had 1 TO left, Penn had none left.

Penn couldn't run a third down play and then used a spike to stop the clock, as that would've been their fourth down play.

There was no need to spike the ball as the third down play, because the clock was already stopped due to Harvard calling timeout. Even if they had done so, it would have left most of the 25 seconds still on the clock for Harvard to run their last possession.

Penn could have used a running play on 3rd down to center the ball for the FG, but then one of 2 things would have happened -- either:
* Penn would have had to rush their FG team onto the field with the clock running, risking the clock running out before they got set, or...
* Harvard would have used their last timeout to preserve 20+ seconds for their last possession.

I suppose there's a third option: Penn throws to the end zone on third down -- if a receiver is open, you throw to him; if not, throw the ball away. It takes time off the clock without having to rush the FG team into position. But there's a risk that you hurt your FG opportunity with a sack, intentional grounding call, or interception.

Ultimately, I think the bottom line in Penn's situation at the end of that game is: play better defense.

The DP says Penn was out of timeouts; Priore explanation makes sense about kicking FG on third down. It makes Penn’s poor clock management mid-way through the 4th quarter — calling TO to avoid a delay of game penalty on first down — loom large. Run the ball and the clock, call TO and then kick the FG. Maybe Penn wound have used it earlier anyway but either way, there were no TOs left. O’Brien had a game reminding me of Billy Ragone. For those who don’t get the reference, it is highest praise.

The ESPN play by play record - whcih is not always 100% accurate - supports your DP report.

I did not see this game, but IMO ivy staffs in general are hit or miss on clock management matters. Princeton's end of first half yesterday is a prime example of a "miss".
