How in the world did you ever find out that the guy's name was "Gordon Hodgkins"? The end credits of M3S were run on screen in front of a filmclip of the brand new 1961 Chevrolets. In the second season, the film was replaced by the inferior illustrations of the new 1962 models. As far as I can determine, no other car manufacturers had a regular sponsorship gig with M3S after Chevrolet bailed out in favor of "the witch." Actually I find it surprising that these end credits weren't redone to eliminate the Chevy reference. Since it involved much more than just blocking out a sponsor's logo or product at the bottom of the screen (i.e. The Dick Van Dyke Show and Kent cigarettes), the powers that be probably felt it wasn't worth it. By the third season, the practice had ended.
