I’m not sure why you posted this. Was it due to something the mayor said at last Thursday’s workshop or this week’s Council meeting? At many times in the past I have commented about the mayor’s out of control rants and the narcissism he displays at public meetings. If anything, he has improved in these areas recently. The election of Councilwoman Stewart and Councilman Zorilla are making him a better mayor. He is now trying to build a consensus, and any misinformation that he states at meetings is quickly corrected by the two new council persons.

Of note, the mayor, along with Councilmen Mclymore and Shakur understand that the City Manager form of government is best for Newburgh. Just because Mr. Vennjng completely controlled the past councils he was supposed to serve under is no reason to throw out the baby with the bath water. Most interesting, of the seven members of the City Council, only Councilman Shakur recognizes the parking disaster the city is in the process of creating. The ZBA is handing out variances to housing developers like it is Halloween candy. They will not need to develop the on site parking spaces that are required for the number of apartments they are creating. All of the extra cars that new residents have will take away from the on street parking that the current residents use.
