I could not agree more. In the public eye, all NRL footballers are role-models and therefore should show respect to any official, be it the centre referee or the linesman.

Maybe the NRL should clamp down on this issue, as I see it more and more now in the junior grades. If the NRL was to clamp down, then the juniors wouldn't carry it through the ranks.

It's shocking to see 12 year old kids abusing referees with words that I wouldn't say even now as an adult!
